Post subject: 'My Name is Khan' Film Review

Two of the writers group went to see 'My name is Khan' and this is what they thought.....
In spite of the hoo-ha and controversy, My Name is Khan has broken Bollywood boundaries and set a new mark for Indian cinema. Directed by Karan Johar, it takes us on the journey of Rizvan Khan’s quest to meet the President of the United States.
But this isn’t a straightforward journey. Played by Shah Rukh Khan, Rizvan is an Indian-Muslim with Asperger’s Syndrome, married to Mandira, a Hindu, divorced single mother, played by Kajol. Living in post-9/11 America, Khan has one message to give to the President: “My name is Khan, and I am not a terrorist.” His plight sets him across the States to meet him.
The film provides a convincing and moving commentary on present day racism, religious hatred and prejudices, and global tolerance, set against the backdrop of an unlikely love story. The audience find themselves rooting for this unconventional hero to tackle these challenges, and like any archetypal hero (especially Bollywood!), Rizvan, with the help of his murdered son’s sneakers, strides to the top. And, he finally does meet the President!
Shah Rukh Khan gives a commanding performance throughout the film, which is probably what will attract majority of the audiences, along with his famous co-star, Kajol. Aside from being a typical Johar big budget blockbuster, this film successfully depicts America through Bollywood. Music by Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy, as always, does not disappoint.
This is a fascinating and compelling movie, and at the very least entertaining – certainly a must see for all.

On the whole, MY NAME IS KHAN is a fascinating love story, has an angle of religion and a world-shaking incident as a backdrop. It not only entertains, but also mesmerises, enthrals and captivates the viewer in those 2.40 hours. At the same time, a film like MY NAME IS KHAN is sure to have a far-reaching influence due to its noble theme. _________________ Best VigRx & VigRx Plus Reviews |
